For quite a while many like me have been waiting for this moment. Arsenal has unveiled a majestic statue of the legendary Arsène Wenger. In this modern era of football, I challenge anyone to come up with a name that will stand tall next to the "Boss". As the immortalized figure now stands proudly outside the Emirates Stadium, it is a good time to remind the players and young Arsenal fans of this icon and his legacy for this club.

When you read or hear about the club described as "Class", Mr. Wenger was at most, one of that image that you would associate that thought with. A common misconception I appreciate - simply from a place of pride, is hearing some youngsters think Mr. Wenger owned Arsenal.  His visionary approach to football saw him focus on nurturing young talent and instilling an attractive style of play based on possession and fluidity. Arsenal became synonymous with "Wengerball," showcasing artistry and finesse on the pitch. I'm glad those of us who had the privilege to grow in his era, are educating the younger generation about him. His emphasis on promoting homegrown players and his eye for signing relatively unknown gems revolutionized the Club's DNA, setting the stage for a new era of success for the Gunners.

I'll admit there were so many painful memories and moments that seemed unbearable for example, his 1000th game was mired with heavy disappointment; and there were several moments as such. However, his achievement, to me, was far beyond trophies. Yes, in football coaches are judged on trophies and achievements.  Thankfully his, is forever immortalized from the "Invincibles" - the envy amongst the big clubs.

Arsène Wenger had a profound impact on the lives of players and staff both professionally and personally. Known for his nurturing demeanor and unwavering support, Wenger developed a special bond with his players, becoming a mentor and father figure to many. That has carried on throughout the club from the junior club, Hale End Academy to the senior team, the club still follows the same structure and principle of his - albeit some modification with current times. His dedication to the holistic development of players set him apart from others in the footballing world. His legacy extends far beyond the football pitch, making him an endearing and beloved figure at the club.

Arsène Wenger embodied the core values of Arsenal Football Club: class, respect, and a commitment to beautiful football. His dignified conduct on and off the field earned him immense respect not only from Arsenal fans but also from the football fraternity worldwide. Wenger's commitment to playing an attractive, attacking style of football endeared him to fans and neutrals alike. He reshaped the identity of the club and inspired a generation of players and fans to believe in the Arsenal way.

As the statue of Arsène Wenger stands tall, it is a testament to the lasting impact he made during his illustrious tenure as Arsenal's manager. His vision, achievements, and values have forever etched his name in the hearts of Arsenal faithful. Wenger's legacy continues to inspire future generations of footballers, managers, and supporters, making him a deserving and timeless icon of Arsenal Football Club. May his statue serve as a constant reminder of the indelible mark he left on the beautiful game.
